About our

Adult OCD Virtual Support Group

Anxiety & OCD Treatment Services offers a free, virtual support group for adults with OCD.

The support group is modeled after the GOAL (Giving Obsessive-Compulsives Another Lifestyle) support group developed by Johnathan Grayson, PhD and Gayle Frankel. It is a place for those with lived experience with OCD to gain support and community from other OCD sufferers, learn from one another and share ideas, and develop goals to work on between meetings.

Our group is peer-led, though it is be facilitated by an Anxiety & OCD Treatment Services team member. That means that while a team member is present at the meeting, it is to be run by members with lived experience. It is intended as a support group and is not meant to replace regular therapy. The team members who are present during the group are facilitating it in a volunteer capacity, not in a clinician or therapist capacity.

Who Can Participate?

  • Our group is currently open to clients of Anxiety & OCD Treatment Services (active and former), or to those currently receiving or having had received exposure and response prevention (ERP) with another provider (prospective group members will be asked to identify their current/previous treatment provider). To limit capacity, right now we are limiting the support group to residents of the states that we serve.

  • Adults who are 18 years or older with OCD

What is the Cost?

    1. The first 25 minutes are for discussion of a predetermined topic related to OCD.

    2. The middle 25 minutes are for setting behavioral goals to work on between groups.

    3. The last 25 minutes are considered free social time and an opportunity to talk informally with other group members
