Madeline DeBoer, LISW, LICSW

Licensed Social Worker

Madeline (Maddi) DeBoer is a multi-state licensed clinical social worker who provides evidenced-based care to adolescents (ages 12 and up) and adults across Iowa, Alabama, Colorado, and Florida.


With over 10 years of experience working in the social work and human services field, Maddi has expertise in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including trichotillomania (hair-pulling) and excoriation disorder (skin-picking), as well as broader anxiety-related conditions.


Maddi holds advanced credentials as a graduate of the TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors’ esteemed Virtual Professional Training Institute. She is currently one of only two providers in Iowa and one of only three in Alabama recognized by the Foundation and listed in their national therapist directory. She is currently developing a Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors Workshop to launch in Fall 2025.


Maddi is a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and actively stays up-to-date with continuing education and the latest research and clinical advancements in the treatment of OCD and related disorders


In addition to her clinical work with OCD and BFRBs, Maddi has extensive experience supporting individuals with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), specific phobias, health anxiety, and stress and adjustment disorders. Her therapeutic approach draws on modalities such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care.


Maddi earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Northwestern - St. Paul and her Master of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa, where her graduate research emphasized trauma-responsive, evidence-based mental health interventions. Her clinical training included placements at St. Luke’s Hospital and Tanager Place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.


Over the course of her career, Maddi has worked in diverse clinical settings, including hospital-based behavioral health units, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP), where she designed and led therapy groups to provided individual and family-based treatment.


Additionally, Maddi attained her yoga instructor certification in 2019 and integrates mind-body awareness into her therapeutic philosophy, helping clients build emotional resilience and reconnect with themselves in healing ways.


Whether working with adolescents navigating developmental challenges or adults managing long-standing anxiety disorders, Maddi is committed to delivering care that is grounded in empathy, clinical excellence, and a belief in every client’s capacity for growth and recovery.
