About

Erin Young, BA

Erin Young will be joining Anxiety & OCD Treatment Services in August 2023 as a student clinician. Erin is passionate about helping others, and has a strong interest in exposure-based treatment methods - such as exposure and response prevention (ERP) - while tailoring her treatment approach to meet each client's unique needs. Erin is committed to learning and developing new therapeutic skills around the treatment of anxiety and OCD. She has experience working with a diverse range of clients, including those struggling with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and substance use.  She has a particular interest in working with perinatal anxiety and OCD.

Erin received her undergraduate degree in journalism and advertising from Iowa State University and worked in the graphic design field for 15 years before deciding to pursue a career path dedicated to serving others. She is currently working toward a graduate degree in clinical social work at the University of Iowa, where she has deepened her understanding of various therapeutic techniques and approaches.

Erin completed her first internship with House of Mercy in Des Moines, where she worked directly with the female residents in a substance use treatment center. She conducted both one-on-one and group sessions on a variety of topics, including relationships, trauma, and relapse prevention.
